Great performance for the value, especially if you can get this under $550. Read more

Dell XPS 15Z X15z-5834ELS 15.6-Inch Laptop (Elemental Silver) Best Reviews

Dell XPS 15Z X15z-5834ELS 15.6-Inch Laptop (Elemental Silver) I purchased this Dell XPS 15z ever before & have had enough time with it to properly review it. When I heard that Dell was releasing a slim brand of XPS laptops I ended up being very excited. The Dell XPS collection has always impressed me because they are performance systems at affordable prices. Combine those two elements that has a slim line of notebooks & you get one heck of your deal. For a while I contemplated investing in a Macbook Pro 13" because of it’ s aesthetic appeal but was having a tough time justifying paying the $500 premium for your design & operating system. That all came for an end when Dell last but not least released the XPS 15z. The laptop is a new Macbook pro clone, it looks very similar to the 15" model that apple presents. All of the universal series bus & peripheral plugs are for the left side (except for power & Ethernet plugs), the battery indicator with little lights can be on this side much like the mac. There is a slot machine loading dvd drive for the right side & the dimensions are basically the same.
The new XPS incorporates the second generation sandy bridge processors from Intel, unfortunately they are merely the dual core processors they are still plenty powerful for many of us applications. In addition to most of these new processors the laptop has a GeForce GT525M with 1GB of video memory. So far this graphics card continues to be able to handle everything that I have thrown in it seamlessly. I’ m not a PERSONAL COMPUTER gamer & I have read other reviews to declare that this card would be able to play most modern sport at medium settings. Which isn’ t bad for a laptop with this size. One of the nicest reasons for having the laptop that I own is the full 1080p resolution from the screen. That option alone basically sold me for the machine, not very many laptops have this option & have all the other goodies until this comes with. Like the USB 3. 0, Mini DVI, New Processors, Fast RAM, Optimus Enabled GeForce Minute card.
I have also had a great experience with the battery life on my laptop computer. Using the dell power management settings I could get around 5-6 hours of time on the laptop seeing movies online, surfing the web, listening to music & doing work. That is very similar to my friends Macbook Professional 13", the times that the firms post online about 8 hours battery time is rubbish. Unless you turn the brightness setting into the lowest settings & use word or a few low CPU intensive program without the need of sound you aren’ t going to get that style of battery life stated upon company websites. But nonetheless 5-6 hours is plenty for me.
Although I love the particular laptop & wouldn’ t trade it in for any other laptop, there are a few negatives I have to mention. The chrome trim round the base of the machine may seem like more of an afterthought & doesn’ t really hold up adequately. It’ s really just a plastic piece that’s clipped in there. The panel surrounding the plugs for the left side is also a bit flimsy, not that big of your deal but definitely not high grade material. Also, as a computer man I don’ t know why anyone would operate the Dell Stage software. It really seems such as a waste of RAM but that could be more of a style thing, kind of like buying and selling domains don’ t like anything on my desktop except for the My Computer & Trash icons.
All in all this laptop is extremely good & I would give it a 4. 5 stars if I could on here but since i can’ t I’ m rounding up. If you can spend the extra hundred bucks I strongly suggest upgrading the screen & getting the full 1080p practical knowledge. That way when a mac fanboy lets you know how much better his or her 15" laptop is just consult him what the solution of his screen will be: P, it definitely won’ t be 1080p. If you prefer Home windows to Mac OS & want a slim line laptop understand this, if you have the amount of money & like Mac OS then go along with the 15’ Pro. Also, a 14" model of this is visiting market very soon! So if you desired something even smaller lose time waiting for that, it will have the same stuff except for the full 1080p screen.
Pros:
New Processor (next Gen Intel Core when i processors).
Fast RAM, & plenty of it.
Beautiful resolution. (If you find the 1080p resolution, 720p is nice too)
Efficient graphics card with optimus technology that could get you better battery life.
Battery life is beneficial.
Affordable for the quality specifications.
Multi Touch Trackpad (Works perfect for me)
Cons:
Build quality could end up being better. Chrome trimming is affordable.
No quad core brand option.
Not designed for hardcore gamers. (Regular XPS or Alienware line is designed for gamers)
Thank you regarding reading my review.
Cheers,
Hunter

ASUS A73E-XA1 Critical Reviews

ASUS A73E-XA1 17.3-Inch Versatile Entertainment Laptop – Dark Grey Asus makes good laptops without the added price of a fashionable brand. This laptop is beneficial to the value. I’ m surprised it has a blu-ray player. Only comment is that my eyes apparently strain when I stare for the screen. Not sure if it’ s because of the actual resolution or the refresh rate nevertheless it doesn’ t seem very apparent. Read more

ASUS A53E-EH91

ASUS A53E-EH91 15.6-Inch Versatile Entertainment Laptop (Black) Needed a $400-laptop being a present for my grandfather-in-law. Nothing fancy, just 15" screen, keyboard, & decent speakers. I wanted to avoid AMD-powered laptops. This one seemed to fit the bill, & it works fine. It’ s fairly light, sub-6 lb. The screen is a lot bright, the keyboard layout is standard, mousepad is comfortable. The battery lasts one or two hours, at least, I didn’ t time it. There is enough RAM for virtually every basic office task, & the dual-core CPU is plenty fast for the similar tasks.
It comes preloaded with lots of crapware, but if you burn a few recovery DVDs (there exists HP Recovery Manager installed – but realize that it only allows you to burn ONE copy — DVD, DVD-DL, or USB Flash) – it is possible to restore the system with minimal software & drivers – which provides just plain old Home windows 7 install with individuals & minimal HP software. The laptop works only fine, & for what it is, you can’ t be too picky – it’ s a cheap plastic material budget box that’ s not too rapidly, & not too flashy, but works fine. Oh, & the built-in Altec Lansing audio speakers are great!
Windows 7 performance rating – 4. 6
processor 5. 9
RAM 5. 9
Graphics 4. 6
Gaming 5. 5
Hard disk: 5. 9
Only couple of style issues: the laptop lid incorporates a very sharp edge, I can even foresee someone cutting face to face it. Also, for the same motive, the laptop lid is difficult to open.
And finally: on Amazon front web page, go to Computers & Laptops, & search for 15" laptops with 4GB connected with RAM, under $500, with Intel Pentium CENTRAL PROCESSING UNIT. At the time connected with writing this, there were only 7 effects, & only a couple lap tops for $400 – this one, & an Asus with total keyboard (normal numeric). I liked this a single better. dell latitude d520 battery Replacement Reviews

This is precisely what I wanted and it arrived 2 days early from ACCDEPOT.

I’m still within the conditioning phase, but here’s what I can tell you.

1) the first full discharge took slightly over four hours (I was playing World of Warcraft while it discharged, yes you can do this on an Inspiron Mini 1011, simply takes a 1-line tweak of one initialization file). so that’s four hours of battery life, in conditioning phase, while powering a device that’s running maxxed out.

2) This fit better than the OEM. There was forever an annoying wiggle to the OEM battery that made the netbook feel weak and poorly assembled, this verges on too comfortable but went in with none trouble and has no jiggle or movement in the least.

3) If you scan the directions for conditioning this battery it says 4-5 hours to full charge, this one shows full charge in concerning forty five minutes (from stone dead, won’t even get thru the dell flash screen). I still let it charge for 4-5 hours because the directions said so, but its on it’s third conditioning cycle currently and still showing full charge forty five min in to charging.

Long story short; I wish these guys sold memory. Still waiting on the 2g upgrade I bought from somebody else at a similar time. but this product, yes, buy it. If you have got an Inspiron Mini 10v (1011) this does work, and work well. do not pay 80 on a battery from Dell that does a similar factor, but rattles within the housing.
